Jen Gurss – R1 Senior Consultant

Jennifer Gurss is a goal-oriented consultant and lifelong educator who is passionate about helping people find meaningful solutions to complex problems. As a Senior Consultant at R1 Learning, she partners with correctional agencies, K–12 schools, and higher education institutions to implement evidence-based behavioral health and substance use programs that make a measurable difference in learning, rehabilitation, and recovery.

Before joining R1 Learning, Jennifer spent 20 years in the classroom and another 10 years consulting in education, supporting districts and leaders in building programs that inspire growth and transformation. Driven by her desire to expand her impact, she now brings that same spirit of learning and connection to the field of corrections, helping systems deliver curriculum and digital resources that meet individuals where they are.

Jennifer is a natural problem-solver who thrives on collaboration, results, and purpose-driven work. Outside of her professional life, she loves to travel, experience new cultures, and spend time with her family. She and her husband are proud empty nesters, with two daughters, one a dedicated teacher and the other a psychology major pursuing her passion for understanding the human mind.
